How come a text message is not received even when I correctly say what number I want it to be sent at the tone?
Not all cell phone service providers have enabled the SayType service on their network, T-mobile for example. Inform us through the Contact Us link on our page and let us know which carrier you are using.  In addition, to speed up the process, call your carrier and tell them to allow e-mails from admin@saytype.com.

How do I experience the best results using SayType?
Speak slowly, clearly, and in complete sentences for the most accurate results. It make take some experience to see how SayType reacts to how you enunciate and pronounce certain words and letters. This is especially important when sending messages in noisy places.  However, don’t worry.  The unsuccessful messages will not deduct from your message credits.

Additional Tips

  • First, make sure your phone is set to “Caller ID enabled / Call privacy-off”, else prefix the phone number with “*82” (e.g. *829169477325) as an alternative to enabling caller ID.
  • Spell out the names of people, emaill addresses and places to ensure accuracy.
  • Do not speak both English and Spanish in the same message.
  • If you forget to say where you want you message to be sent, the message will be returned to your phone as a text message.
  • Sending messages to yourself only works when you have credits on the phone number from which you are using to call SayType.
  • SayType does not work with blocked phone numbers. No exceptions. Be sure that your phone’s settings are not set to hide your phone number.
  • Background noise will affect the accuracy of your message. A voice message can still be turned into text even with background noise, but the accuracy may decrease.
